Thank you for sharing so much of your personal life. As a regular reader of yours on SA I have added some of your suggestions into my portfolio. My life has had more ups and downs including 20 years on a kibbutz. I too am in a wonderful relationship of 20 years with my third partner. I realized late, at age 70, that I needed to do something to allow me to retire comfortably . I spent the next 6 years also creating a high yield portfolio which let me retire this May.

Reviewed your portfolio this morning and found it similar to mine. You have about 10 more stocks than I do, I seem to have a higher tolerance for risk in that the majority of my stocks represent roughly on average 5% of total portfolio. We have a lot of the same stocks some which I got from your articles. Thank you. I have 4 or 5 stocks with a significant appreciation, and I am thinking I need to sell those in order to put the appreciation to work in more dividend investments. I keep tracking my stocks monthly and add dividend % to the appreciation % thinking I doing great but I am not getting any monthly earnings on the appreciated amount. My monthly dividend amount is the same. I feel I need to get at that appreciation and put it to work. Please give me some InSite as to where my thinking is wrong on this.
